We have an exciting new temporary opportunity for a Tenancy Sustainment Manager to work on a placement for 3 months based in Manchester, M33. This is a full time role working 35 hours per week paying the hourly equivalent of £46,500 but could go up to £52k for the right candidate.

The Tenancy Sustainment Manager will be passionate about being responsible for the delivery of an effective, agile, high quality tenancy sustainment service which enables customers to thrive in their tenancy and live in neighbourhoods that are clean, safe, secure places to live, work or visit.

The position is a strategic role focused on providing professional expertise, support and guidance for team members, colleagues and external stakeholders.

You will lead a team playing an integral role in supporting the increasing variety and diversity of people we house to manage and sustain their tenancy.

Requirements include:

  • An ability to manage multi-tenure housing management service provision.
  • At least 2 years-experience of managing a team & strong performance management
  • Excellent understanding of all aspects of Tenancy Management.
  • Knowledge and ability to manage Tenancy/Leasehold management, Tenancy
  • Fraud and Anti-Social Behaviour, including but not limited to dealing with Domestic Violence, Domestic Abuse, Hate Crime, Vulnerable Residents and Safeguarding.
  • Experience of partnership development with key stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of the regulatory environment in which we operate, including a detailed knowledge and understanding of the Regulatory Standards (ROSH), Together with Tenants Charter, Social Housing White Paper.
  • Ability to quickly disseminate difficult and complex information in a simple and engaging way
  • Ability to make independent decisions and recognise circumstances where risks or decisions need to be escalated

Key responsibilities include:

  • Line management responsibility of all staff within the Tenancy Sustainment team including undertaking regular 1 to 1 supervisions, appraisals and effective performance management. Providing strong direction & leadership including demonstrating a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Provide expertise and support to staff dealing with highly complex and challenging cases, ensuring support mechanisms are in place for customers and employees and appropriate use is made of legal and expert advice.
  • Effectively develop, manage and quality control casework to ensure excellence and effectiveness in service delivery.
  • Accountable for ensuring service area achievement of key performance indicators and service standards.
  • Lead service improvements and the delivery of strategic and operational objectives.
  • Work with local stakeholders to ensure that residents are receiving the services that they expect and deserve. Stakeholders could include, but are not limited to, LA partners, councillors, MPs, resident committee members, commercial customers, etc.
