Remote job
Location:
Birmingham, West Midlands
Salary/Rate:
£35,000 - £40,000/annum

Opportunity:

A fantastic opportunity to become a part of an established environmental consultancy's new growth plan has just become available. Our client is expanding into a new office in Birmingham and is looking to bring in a new Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to support the delivery of multiple UK based projects across both public and private sectors. You will have the opportunity to be amongst the first of the new expansion, which means plenty of opportunity for training, development and career progression. As a senior member of the geoenvironmental division, your role will predominantly encompass an office-based position as opposed to a field operative.

Responsibilities:

Your new role will have several key responsibilities associated with it, focussed mainly on the support of site investigations and the subsequent report writing as well as taking on a mentor style role for the more junior members of the team. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Complete presentation of each stage of assigned geoenvironmental projects, including how financial and technical inputs for proposals, division of resources, use of contractors, deadlines and economic performance will be coordinated.
  • Undertaking a client facing, business winning position, developing relationships with new and existing clientele.
  • Production and review of a variety of integral geo-environmental write-ups that can provide solutions to client business requirements.
  • Take a lead with the tender process, including presentation of proposals and/or bids.
  • Pinpoint potential chances for business expansion and spot new market routes to growth.
  • Ensure all practices adhere to strict Health & Safety standards.

Requirements:

You will be already or working towards being a chartered member of a relevant professional body e.g. Cgeol etc. and a member of a professional organisation such as IEMA or IES. You will be someone with proven experience working within the geoenvironmental field, handling standard tasks such as ground investigations, remediations, contaminated land assessments as well as various strategies. A full, clean UK driving license is also key to this position as you will occasionally be required to travel to sites. Further requirements include demonstrable experience supervising a range of field tasks undertaken by the geo-environmental team and winning business with existing clients and identifying new clients to bring into the company fold.
