Teacher of English
Location: Gateshead, Newcastle
Start Date: ASAP
Teacher of English Salary: £120 - £180 per day

Contract: Part-Time/Full-Time

GSL Education’s Newcastle Branch is looking for a dedicated and qualified English Teacher for a respected school in Gateshead, starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and committed educator with a proven track record of nurturing a passion for literature and improving student performance.

As an English Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons for Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-Level English.
• Assisting in the development of a creative and effective English curriculum.
• Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including ICT and online tools, to engage and motivate students.
• Adhering to the school’s ethos and behavior management policies and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Encouraging students to develop independent learning skills and critical thinking.
• Participating in staff training days, meetings, and parent evenings as required.

Essential requirements include:

• Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Ability to teach English to GCSE and A-Level standards.
• Provide two professional references from the last two years relevant to your teaching experience.
• A committed educator with an understanding of how special educational needs impact teaching and learning methods.
• Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed immediately.
