Humanities Teacher

Location: Gateshead

Pay Scale: £120 to £180 per day

Start: ASAP

Contract: Part-Time/ Full-Time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Humanities Teacher to join our client schools in Gateshead. This is a unique opportunity to inspire and educate students in the fascinating subjects of history, geography, and social studies.

Job summary:

As a Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that encompass various aspects of the humanities. Your role will involve fostering critical thinking, encouraging a deep understanding of historical and geographical concepts, and promoting an appreciation for diverse cultures and societies.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective humanities lessons.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for humanities subjects
• Develop and implement schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment materials.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of the humanities curriculum.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Degree in History, Geography, Social Studies, or a related subject.
• Proven experience teaching humanities at school level is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• An updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
