Farming Connect is a Welsh Government initiative aimed at providing support, guidance, and training to farmers and foresters in Wales. The program is designed to help those in the agricultural sector improve their business practices, increase sustainability, and enhance the profitability of their operations.

We are now looking for a Farming Connect Data Analyst to join us on a part-time basis, working three days per week, for a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2026, with the possibility of an extension.

The Role

As a Farming Connect Data Analyst, you will provide effective data analysis and recording for the Farming Connect project.

You will be responsible for analysing beneficiary data, providing weekly and monthly statistics on project progress and outcomes, and ensuring all data is accurately captured and reported.

Additionally, you will:

- Lead on BAS/BOSS reporting of activity, producing weekly reports
- Manipulate data linked to Accredited Training funding applications and all Lot 2 activity
- Prepare data and stats for monthly Contract Management meetings and Dashboards
- Complete data capture sheets for Welsh Government claims
- Support certification and related paperwork for the Farming Connect Animal Health and Welfare workstream

About You

To be considered as a Farming Connect Data Analyst, you will need:

- Experience of working with Excel and interrogating data
- Experience with project co-ordination
- Experience of working with most relevant IT software packages
- Competency in the use of lookups and pivot tables in Excel, as well as working with formulas
- The ability to assist and represent the team with presenting data in meetings
- The ability to work well in a team and share knowledge
- Good attention to detail alongside technical proficiency, with the ability to solve problems quickly
- To be highly computer literate
