Operations and Business Development Manager

Location: London, Knightsbridge / Hybrid

Salary: Up to £50k plus discretionary bonus

Hours: Full time

Working as part of the team at an Appointed Representative of St. James’s Place Plc.

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an Operations & Business Development Manager within a highly successful SJP Partner Practice. You will lead and oversee the operations of the Practice to optimise client relationships and ensure effective daily office management.

The Role: Operations & Business Development Manager

Reporting to the Principal of the Practice, you will be the lead on -

  • Overall Operations Management: oversee all business functions including advisory, business development, paraplanning and administration – Ensuring that they also align with Compound Wealth Planning (CWP) ’s objectives 
  • Client Relationship Optimisation: Ensure client-focused office management and improve the value proposition including dealing and resolving any client complaints and issues effectively
  • Business Development: Find new avenues to grow the practice including monitoring reports to identify opportunities and challenges which might affect the growth of the Practice
  • Efficiency and Productivity: Utilize technology to enhance productivity. Develop and implement effective infrastructure, systems, processes and procedures, monitor current processes and deliver continual improvement
  • Team Coordination: Work with various teams and departments to ensure that all team members perform their key functions – Roles and Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead/oversee/implement projects within the Practice
  • Financial Management: Drive down costs to improve profit margins 
  • Recruitment and HR: Manage recruitment and HR functions  
  • Compliance & LegalOversee of the end-to-end business process, ensuring this is managed and tracked in line with Practice and regulatory standards 
  • CEO Support: Assist the CEO by managing emails, calendars, and other tasks to free up their time.

The Person: Operations & Business Development Manager

  • You will have a track record as a manager, in an operational office-based environment, preferably within SJP or a relevant Financial Services business for at least 4 years
  • You have strong experience in Client Relations and Business Development of at least 4 years
  • You are used to managing tasks and continuously improving processes
  • You will have experience of managing and developing others and will be able to demonstrate this at interview
  • You will have a good understanding of how you can add operational and financial value to a business, and you enjoy working as part of a team
  • You will be a confident professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate others
  • You have strong influencing and time management skills and enjoy problem solving
