Peace Recruitment are working with a reputable Scottish Water contractor who are looking to add a Site Engineer to their growing team in Dumfries. Freelance and permanent candidates will be considered. Local candidates will be preferred although accommodation can potentially be provided.

Role Overview:
As a Site Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of our water infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the setting out, ensuring that all works are completed to the highest standards, and in line with project specifications and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting Out: Accurately interpret and implement designs, specifications, and drawings to set out the works on-site.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all works are carried out to the required quality standards and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Supervision: Oversee site activities, managing subcontractors and site operatives to ensure efficient progress.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any technical issues that may arise during the construction process.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records, including daily diaries, material quantities, and progress reports.
  • Liaison: Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Site Engineer, with specific expertise in setting out.
  • Education: Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of total stations, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and health & safety regulations, particularly in water infrastructure projects.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Driving License: A valid UK driving license is essential.
