The client, a leading manufacturer of large safety critical mechanical fabrications, is seeking a skilled individual to lead their purchasing and logistics team.
About the Role:
As the Purchasing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic alliances with key suppliers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Formulating and implementing strategic sourcing strategies to ensure optimal supplier performance.
- Negotiating competitive pricing and terms to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Managing supplier relationships and ensuring adherence to quality, delivery, and cost targets.
- Leading a small team of purchasing professionals.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain processes.
- A graduate degree and ideally CIPS qualifications.
- Proven experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment (e.g., automotive, aerospace, rail, construction).
- A strong understanding of EPC projects and their specific requirements.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- A strategic mindset and the ability to drive continuous improvement.
