Supply Chain Manager

Proactive Global currently is looking for a Supply Chain Manager for one of our customers based in Edgware area.

Salary £55k + 10% bonus

Position within the organisation:

The Supply Chain Manager reports to the UK Head Of Operations and oversees all supply chain activities including procurement and service team functions; goods inwards, stores and dispatch

Key purpose:

The role is to lead and manage end-to end supply chain activities. To oversee the entire supply chain functions for the business, encompassing procurement, forecasting, inventory flow and logistics to ensure seamless and timely distribution of products to the end customer.

The manager will responsible for ensuring optimal supply chain performance to support and maximise the growth of the business while fostering a culture of working safely.

Key priorities:

  • Managing costs across the supply chain, including procurement, inventory and transportation.
  • Driving rigorous data and BI analysis across supply chain to drive cost savings, inventory optimisation, efficiency and speed on dispatch process
  • Optimise supply chain activities, making sure production and supply chain work hand in hand.
  • Identifying and addressing supply chain risks across materials, machines and other key line spend.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiating favourable terms.
  • Ensure inventory is optimised to meet production requirements and financial prudence.
  • Challenge and improve efficiency in shipping goods to the customer.
  • Responsible for smooth transition of goods at the goods inwards stage and transition through the company.
  • Drive and ensure statutory and best practice adherence to the highest health and safety standards within the supply chain team.
  • Manage and build relationships with logistic suppliers to maximise efficiency on delivery to our customers.
  • Work collaboratively and liaise with other departmental managers to ensure that internal customer requirements are met.
  • Coach, mentor and develop the team.
  • Continuously review and implement training requirements for the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, optimising the supplier base to ensure reliability and efficiency and ensure all critical dates are consistently met.
  • Leading sourcing activities through procurement team.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with suppliers.
  • Identifying bottlenecks and solutions within supply chain.
  • Ensure tools and processes are developed and maintained to support forecasting and effective stock control management.
  • Data and BI analysis on key supply chain activities
  • Forecasting of assembled products from other Sentric factories both in Tunisia and China.
  • Responsibility and leading bi-yearly stock taking process.
  • Ensuring that material/parts are provided to line side manufacturing cells efficiently and optimising kanban systems.
  • Daily communication and taking the lead for supply chain in the SQDIP meetings.
  • Making sure logistic and transport operations are optimised for maximum efficiency.
  • Set team objectives and KPI's for Supply Chain team.
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers and other service providers.
  • Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact.
  • Maintain a curious and growth mindset, continuously reviewing and analysing processes with a focus on improving efficiencies and performance. Staying updated on latest innovations and advancements in the supply chain function.

Supervisory responsibility

Supply chain which involves procurement and service team.

Qualification requirements:

  • Graduate level of education in a Business, Engineering or Production related subject or equivalent experience, or MCIPS membership.
  • ERP expertise, preferably with 365 Business Dynamics knowledge.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong IT literacy and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with people management and developing a team.
  • Proven experience working under pressure to balance job priorities and targets.
  • Awareness of shipping requirements and Incoterms.
  • Experience of working in an international, multi-site environment.
