Contracts Engineer

Carbon60 are currently hiring a Contracts Engineer for a market-leading industrial equipment manufacturer at their service centre in Manchester.

The purpose of this role will be to support the Service Centre Manager by coordinating all repair activities from initial enquiry through to job completion. Jobs coordinated will be centred around the repair/overhaul/upgrade of heavy industrial equipment such as Pumps, Valves and Rotating equipment across the industries of which this client provide their services.

Working Hours: Mon - Fri (7:30am - 4pm Mon to Thurs and 7:30am - 1pm Friday)

Salary: Competitive

Role Responsibilities:

  • Issue accurate quotations and cost calculations in a timely manner to agreed timescales
  • Effective operation of SAP: ensuring orders are logged correctly and updating the system daily making sure information is correct
  • Maintaining frequent communication with clients - clarifying requirements, negotiating costs/delivery, etc
  • Be aware of capacity by liaising with departments
  • Ensuring department KPIs are achieved
  • Vendor communication: negotiating price/delivery and ensuring quality/cost/delivery requirements are being met
  • Develop costings
  • Workflow scheduling - Ensuring delivery requirements are met
  • Provide technical responses to customer/vendors when required and make technical decisions on refurbishments/repairs

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Solid engineering background with understanding around the Maintenance/ Service/Repair of industrial equipment such as Pumps, Valves, Compressors and Rotating Equipment
  • Mechanically qualified to NVQ3 or equivalent - Ideally with a BTEC
  • Outstanding communication skills bit written and verbal
  • Strong presentation and ability to negotiate
  • Numerate and IT literate with strong Microsoft office understanding
  • SAP Experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Strong time management wit ability to effectively manage workload
