Lead DO-178 Software Certification Engineer

Are you a seasoned Software Certification Engineer with a strong background in DO-178 standards? We're recruiting on behalf of a top-tier aerospace company seeking a Lead DO-178 Software Certification Engineer to spearhead software certification efforts and ensure regulatory compliance across aviation systems projects. Key Responsibilities:

DO-178 Software Certification Leadership:

*Lead the development of product certification strategies and establish certification bases in line with RTCA/DO-178B/C standards.
*Oversee compliance planning and determine the means of compliance for assigned software projects and products.
*Contribute to the creation of cohesive project plans, ensuring alignment with certification and business objectives.
*Review development artefacts and conduct certification audit pre-assessments for both internal projects and external suppliers.
*Audit project/product artifacts and verification activities to ensure compliance with the certification basis.
*Provide support during Customer AR/Regulatory Authority audits and collaborate with Integrated Project Teams to resolve audit findings, actions, and observations.
*Participate in and contribute to industry working groups focused on software certification and related standards.
*Mentor and provide technical guidance, coaching, and development for less experienced engineers within the certification team and broader engineering community.

Qualifications & Experience:
*Proven experience in airborne software development and/or certification, particularly within RTCA/DO-178B or C environments.
*Strong understanding and experience with regulatory compliance related to RTCA/DO-178C.
*Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or equivalent knowledge and experience.
*Demonstrated ability to lead compliance efforts and successfully navigate the software certification process.
