The Role:

As a Transport Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of transport activities within the business. You’ll be responsible for supporting the transport team with a variety of tasks, from scheduling and coordinating deliveries to liaising with drivers and customers. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will be key in helping the team meet delivery deadlines and maintain high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the scheduling and coordination of transport activities, including route planning and vehicle allocation.
• Communicating with drivers to ensure they have the necessary information and documentation for their deliveries.
• Tracking the progress of deliveries and handling any issues or delays that arise.
• Maintaining accurate records of transport activities, including delivery logs, vehicle maintenance schedules, and driver hours.
• Liaising with customers to provide updates on delivery times and resolve any queries or concerns.
• Supporting the transport team with general administrative tasks as required.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within the transport department.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in a transport or logistics role is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to work well under pressure.
