The Opportunity
Our client is the Design and Engineering partner for major nuclear projects. This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects within the highly regulated nuclear sector. Due to this, they’re looking to recruit an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment. They are assisting in delivering major projects, with site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.

They specialise on providing the front end design and engineering capability across the various project portfolio. Being part of the team offers a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation in engineering, safety and delivery solutions in one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK if not the world. They require people who are passionate about developing themselves and in meeting new challenges.

Contract Estimated Duration – 12 months.
This role has been deemed inside of IR35.

Location
Warrington, Cheshire (hybrid)

Your duties and responsibilities will be
  • They’re looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Senior Mechanical Designer who will lead a small group of Designers to deliver required technical outputs to meet business need. 
  • Work closely with the design team and site based team.
  • Deliver mechanical work scope, production and checking, reporting to a Principal Engineer.
  • Produce detail drawings using Inventor / AutoCAD software (including familiarity with Inventor Vault), including GA’s, manufacturing details, Layout drawings.
  • Modify and update existing drawings and diagrams as the design matures during testing and manufacture.
You will have the following experiece
  • Experience of working within a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience using Inventor / AutoCAD.
  • Experience of ‘Design for Assembly’ within a regulated Industry.
  • Experience in machining and fabrication manufacturing processes.
