Flourish Education are recruiting for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join the team in a Good rated Primary school in Kingswinford. The school is a small school, who work closely with families, pupils and staff to create a safe and happy learning environment.

This role would be to support a child in Reception, on a 1-1 basis, who has speech and language difficulties, limited speech and who has challenging behaviour. The child has access to a sensory room and can access this throughout the day. The ideal candidate would be experienced in Early Years and the birth to five framework.

Our client is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant, to work on a long-term, full-time basis, starting in the new academic year, continuing until October half-term, with potential to continue a temporary to permanent basis.

The responsibilities of this Early Years Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Supporting a child with SEN on a 1-1 basis.
  • Creating a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Delivering activities to this child and working to an Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • Monitoring and recording the child’s progress.
  • Managing challenging behaviour.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience as an Early Years Teaching Assistant in a UK school.
  • Previous experience working in Early Years (EYFS) and working to the birth to five framework.
  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly speech and language difficulties and challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to manage and engage children who are active and enjoy physical activities.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
