M&E Quantity Surveyor required for a freelance project in Newton Abbot (TQ12)

Required: M&E Quantity Surveyor
Location: Newton Abbot (TQ12)

Start date: Monday 7th October 2024

Employment: Freelance
Working week: 2-3 days p/w
Duration: 12-18mths

Pay rate: Negotiable
Project: Overseeing the M&E services on a new build major project, £15m M&E works on a government projects (new stores, workshops, plant rooms etc). Project install starts around November

Company working for
This is working for a regional and national M&E Building Services Contractor who have been established for over 70yrs working across construction sectors including Leisure & Retail, Commercial & Industrial, Healthcare, Education, Defence and Custodial; turning over circa £140m a year.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of a major M&E project.
* Preparation and submission of interim valuations, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
* Oversee procurement of subcontractors, materials, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
* Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle.
* Prepare and negotiate final accounts, variations, and claims.
* Provide commercial advice and support to the project team, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards.
* Regularly liaise with client, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and smooth project delivery.
* Monitor and report on project performance, identifying any risks or issues and implementing solutions.

Qualifications And Experience
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a focus on M&E
