I am actively seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a busy, successful Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy based in Gateshead. You will assist in managing one of their busiest civil and structural teams where you will have the opportunity to be a part of their growing division, taking part in large commercial projects, such as two animal management centres with a project value of over £30m.

The successful applicant will ideally be someone who has significant experience in highway designs, SuDS, earthworks, drainage and Flood Risky Assessment. Preferably the candidate will have exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), as well as having a full UK driving licence.

It is essential for the candidate to have a professional and commercial viewpoint through having the following:

• A minimum of 4 years' work experience within an engineering consultancy firm
• Qualifications of either Meng, BEng, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering
• Knowledge of technical software with Micro drainage/flow, AutoCAD, AutoTrack and Causeway Live/PDS/ Civil 3D
• Experience of UK planning methods and applicable design codes such as Sewerage Sector Guidance, Water UK, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, preparation of technical approvals and Local Authority Design Guidance

Duties and responsibilities for this Senior Civil Engineer include:

• Utilizing design-based software systems for new infrastructure solutions
• Conducting private and public sector projects
• Following appropriate UK design standards
• A variety of projects ranging from Commercial, Housing, Residential and Extra Care developments
