Quantity Surveyor - required for your client who are a well-established Architectural & General Metalwork Fabricator based in the Cambridgeshire area just west of Huntingdon. The company that the Quantity Surveyor will be working for manufacture Steel Structures for the Construction Industry working on a range of retail, commercial, residential, infrastructure and utility projects.

The Quantity Surveyor will be working alongside a team of Project Managers and will work independently on a portfolio of steelwork projects. The Surveyor will play a client facing role, support the growth of the project management team, and deliver projects from feasibility through to completion.

Quantity Surveyor Position Overview

• Assessing applications from subcontractors
• Preparing/ sorting tender pack information
• Receiving and comparing quotes for future projects
• Assessing payment notices
• Ensure cost control is maintained on project basis throughout procurement, delivery and design, through to final account stage.
• Monitor Project Costs
• Pricing variation
• Collating Bills of Quantities
• Collate information for Final Accounts
• Attend financial meetings

Quantity Surveyor Position Requirements

• Degree or HNC within a Quantity Surveying or Civil / Structural Engineering Discipline
• Working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Commercial Management works on site
• Experience working in a commercial role
• Understanding of steelwork preferred
• Excellent IT skills - especially Excel and Google Sheets
• Effective communication skills
• A full UK driving licence

Quantity Surveyor Position Remuneration

• Salary Dependant on experience Circa £50K
• 21 days holiday + BH
• Other benefits to be discussed
• 8.30am - 6.00pm with flexible lunch, start/end times
