GSL Education is looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Croydon starting in September 2024. This is a fantastic long-term contract opportunity where you can help shape the lives of young people.

The Role:

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them to navigate both their academic and emotional challenges. You will play a key role in creating a supportive environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience with Challenging Behaviour: Proven ability to manage and support students with challenging behaviour is crucial. Experience in a SEN school setting is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of SEN: Familiarity with the unique needs of students with SEMH and the ability to adapt your support to meet those needs.
  • Patience and Resilience: A calm and patient approach, coupled with the resilience to handle difficult situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to create a cohesive support system for students.
  • Passion for Helping Others: A genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
