Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Solicitor to join our in-house legal team. You will be working closely with other members of the Group Legal team at our Group head office in Barlborough and our North Yorkshire regional office in Wetherby.

The successful Trainee Solicitor will commence on a full time 24-month fixed term Training Contract which then has the potential to transition into a permanent role as a qualified Solicitor upon the full completion of the required training and qualifications.

The Role

Have you recently completed or working towards your LPC and are now looking for a Training Contract? Do you have an interest in property law? Are you keen to become part of a friendly, driven in-house legal team?

Joining our team as Trainee Solicitor, you will work under the supervision and guidance of the in-house Group Legal department where you will gain experience across a variety of housebuilding legal matters, in order to develop your knowledge and skillset and complete your training contract.

Key duties and requirements

You will also be responsible for but not limited to;

  • Reviewing and drafting legal documentation on behalf of the Group Legal department.
  • Completing legal agreements in relation to a variety of legal matters.
  • Creating and maintaining case files.
  • Conducting legal research.
  • Raising and responding to queries.
  • Ensuring the efficient and effective handling of disputes.
  • Providing legal advice and support on wide range of legal matters.
  • Day to day shadowing of the wider Group Legal team in order to receive mentorship and support throughout the duration of the Training Contract.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of best practice policy and compliance.
  • Collaborating with and supporting various projects and workgroups.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful as our Trainee Solicitor, you will hold a relevant law qualification and will also be working towards or have recently completed your LPC. Strong communication, problem solving skills and the ability to manage your time effectively are also essential.
