Project Engineer BOP

We are currently seeking a Project Engineer for our client to wok on a Nuclear project in Suffolk. This will be a contract role to run through to the end of December, but will be long term.
It can be based in London with hybrid working options.

Duties will include:
Support the definition or validation the Technical Requirements and Specification, including engagement with Nuclear Services and the Design Authority. Manage technical Open Points and Design Changes which would include supporting progression through the technical governance processes including Replication Principles, Technical Direction Forum (TDF), No Change Committee (NCC) and Non-Permanent Works Change Committee (NPWCC). Furthermore, you will support the Design Technical Assurance for the end-to-end design and ensuring acceptance can be provided, including reviews and approvals as defined by the surveillance plans. You’ll also be responsible for accompanying risk management through Risk Management Processes. Liaising with the Design Manager you will keep a close eye on Early Warnings, Compensation Events, Technical Queries, General Communications etc from L3 Design Supply Chain, including engagement with relevant technical stakeholders.

A large part of the role will be supporting the co-ordination on technical interfaces with other parties, for example Site Establishment and Off-Site Infrastructure NI Programme CIBOP Programme and Sizewell B. Furthermore, looking at compliance with Engineering and Design processes, e.g., Design Management Plans, to deliver the whole lifecycle of the Design, from Technical Requirement capture to EDR. Naturally you will collaborate with the team in delivery of design in accordance with the Contract Schedules under their management and linked to the Integrated Work Schedule (IWS).

Key stakeholders are UK Government, relevant Government departments and agencies including Treasury BEIS, EDF, Financial investors and institutions, Regulators, Alliance partners and local communities.

The Skills
The ideal candidate will have a background in heavy civils engineering structures, desirably within the concrete and structural steel sector, however this specification is not essential. The candidate will hold experience in managing designs and teams, including integration, design and delivery management, as well as have previous experience working with technically focused teams. Furthermore, experience in, and a desire to provide, technical assistance and collaboration within a technically orientated delivery team.
