RES Community Lecturers – Basic IT Skills

Location: Working across Rotherham, Worksop and Retford areas

Salary: £18.41 - £19.32 per hour, plus holiday pay (dependant on Teaching Qualification)  

Job Type: Temporary (Bank workers) 8 hours per week

The Role

In this role you can influence and contribute towards the College's provision in this key area. You will have the opportunity not only to impart your IT knowledge and expertise to adult learners, but ultimately will make an impact on the wider community. 

The successful candidates will deliver quality teaching and facilitate the learning process for students, appropriate to the curriculum element of their course. The computing courses will take place in the community venues and/or college either days, evenings or weekends according to the needs of specific classes. 

The teaching would be for 8 hours per week, but this may increase/decrease subject to course numbers/availability. The courses would be teaching basic IT skills to adult students at beginner level. This may include teaching how to:

  • Log into a computer
  • Browse the internet
  • Basic job searching
  • Setting up and sending emails
  • Navigate office suite

Skills and Qualifications

  • Have experience of teaching Basic IT Skills/Computing to adults
  • Hold a teaching qualification or be working towards one
  • Be well organised and able to manage your own workload
