Design Engineer - Solidworks – Vehicle Conversion - Andover / Hybrid

Brooklyn Recruitment currently have an exciting role available in the Andover area of Hampshire for a Design Engineer within an engineering company who are currently going from strength to strength. This company works in a niche area within the automotive sector (vehicle conversions). This position can be hybrid working with one day a week spent in the office when mainly designing, but when working with internal teams you may need to be on site more. There will also be very occasional travel to the companies’ site in Derbyshire for an overnight stay (roughly twice a year).

As Design Engineer you will be responsible for both bespoke and standardised product offerings from conception through to completion. Your day to day duties will involve:

• Creating designs for customer sign off


• Producing BOM’s


• Checking specifications for feasibility


• Developing and maintaining build manuals for the core product range


• Developing prototype and bespoke vehicles with production staff


• Recording any design changes


• Using Solidworks to create 3D models


• Other duties as required

 

This Design Engineer’s position has excellent working hours:

                Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm

                Friday 8am – 1pm!

To be suitable for this position of Design Engineer you should be proficient in the use of AutoCAD (ACAD / Auto CAD) and Solidworks 3D and 2D. You should also have experience in a similar role ideally within an Automotive / Fabrication / Vehicle Conversion / Minibus / Camper / Welfare Unit setting and have a good working knowledge of Aluminium and Stainless Steel.
