£28,000 - £29,000/annum

We are looking to hire a number of Trainee Machine Operators for our client's Extrusion Production Team based in Yatton near Clevedon. The purpose of this role is to operate the extrusion lines safely and efficiently.

No previous experience is necessary but good timekeeping and willingness to learn will be essential.

Full training will be provided!

The overall purpose of the role is to undertake safe, accurate and efficient setting of machines to achieve the company’s safety, quality and production targets and to ensure all procedures are followed with a high level of discipline.

Main Duties involve:

  • To operate plant and machinery within a specified zone, maintaining targeted output with minimal interruption.
  • Set and adjust machine controls including start-up and shut-down processes
  • Minimise material usage and wastage
  • To maintain a general level of tidiness in work areas and ensure punctual timekeeping in accordance with contracted hours.

Personal Competencies:

  • Attention to detail
  • Methodical approach when problem solving
  • Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Team player with good time management

Previous experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment would be an advantage, but most importantly the right attitude towards work and a willingness to learn new skills.
