Location: London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham (LBHF) - 3 Days a week in the office 
Job Type: Full-time, Temprorary - Estimated for 12 months
Rate: £35 per Hour Umbrella

Job Purpose:
The Sheltered Housing Manager will be responsible for leading a team to deliver an enhanced housing management service, aimed at improving the quality of life and satisfaction for older and vulnerable residents. This role involves working closely with key partners and stakeholders to ensure residents have access to a range of housing and support services, and to continually improve service delivery

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

Build and lead a high-performing team of Specialist Housing Officers. Ensure the team is fully engaged and delivering excellent services that help residents maintain their tenancies and access necessary support services.

Service Delivery:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sheltered housing schemes, ensuring properties are secure, clean, and well-maintained. Ensure prompt turnover of vacant properties and facilitate the resettlement of new residents.

Financial Management:

Minimize revenue loss by effectively managing rent arrears and maximizing residents' access to financial assistance. Promote financial inclusion through various initiatives.

Repairs & Maintenance:

Ensure effective reporting and monitoring of household repairs, particularly for residents who are less able to do so. Manage the handy person scheme to provide a tailored service to residents.

Resident Engagement & Involvement:

Facilitate social activities and the use of communal spaces to enhance residents' quality of life. Implement resident involvement initiatives to gather feedback and continuously improve services.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

Develop and adhere to policies, procedures, and service level agreements related to health, safety, and welfare of residents. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and council policies.

Partnerships & Stakeholder Management:

Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including support and care service providers. Ensure a seamless response to emergencies and other critical situations.


Qualifications:

Educated to degree level or equivalent in supported housing (e.g., NVQ Level 4) or sufficient relevant experience.

Knowledge & Experience:

Significant experience managing a team of housing officers.
Proven track record in a customer-facing service, particularly with older and vulnerable customers.
Experience working within a performance management framework and reporting on KPIs.
Knowledge of housing legislation and health and safety procedures.
Experience handling safeguarding issues.

Skills & Abilities:
Strong leadership skills with the ability to attract, retain, and motivate team members.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
Strong project management skills, including risk, cost, and time management.
Ability to analyze and interpret data for effective resource planning.
Able to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
