The Operations Director for this Renewable Energy business based in Gloucestershire, will join the Senior Management Team (SMT), playing a crucial role in driving operational excellence across the organisation. This role demands a seasoned professional with a strong background in manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality management. The Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, supply chain, and quality assurance, ensuring that the company's products meet the highest standards of efficiency and reliability. This position is key to enhancing operational processes and supporting the company’s rapid growth trajectory in the competitive energy storage sector.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all operational functions, including manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance, to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of products.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s objectives, focusing on continuous improvement and cost optimisation.
  • Apply Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to facilitate the smooth transition of new products from development to production.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring that all materials meet quality and cost expectations.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to the Senior Management Team, providing insights and recommendations for operational improvements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of operations professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
 
 
Experience & Skills Required:
  • Extensive experience in a senior operations role within a manufacturing environment, ideally as an Operations Director or Head of Operations.
  • Proven expertise in Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and quality management systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management, production planning, and process optimisation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards relevant to manufacturing and energy sectors.
