Software Development Engineer

Location: Office based, Guildford, UK

Are you a skilled and qualified Software Development Engineer with a strong academic background (PhD/MSc/1st or 2:1) in Physics, Mathematics, or related physical sciences? Do you excel in developing software solutions for complex engineering challenges? If so, we want to hear from you!

About the Role:

Join a market-leading company as a key member of their software product team, working at the forefront of large-scale physical data projects. You will research and develop engineering models that enhance the representation of physics and engineering principles in cutting-edge software used worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Algorithm Development: Innovate and create efficient algorithms for complex engineering problems.
  • Software Coding: Develop robust code using C#, C, C++, .NET, Fortran, and Visual Studio.
  • Interface Design: Design intuitive and functional user interfaces.
  • Testing: Ensure the quality and reliability of the software toolkits in alignment with corporate product development plans.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Academic Background: PhD/MSc/1st or 2:1 in Physics, Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum/Petrochemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Software Development Experience: Proven experience in software development, with expertise in one or more of the following: C#, C, C++, .NET Technologies, Fortran, Visual Studio.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills with a passion for solving complex engineering problems.
