Position: Head of English
Location: Buckinghamshire
Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week
An established college in the South is seeking a qualified Head of English to lead their department. This role is ideal for an experienced educator with a strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum and proven experience with EDUCAS. The position involves managing 12 direct reports, overseeing curriculum development, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality education.
Role Overview:
- Team Leadership: Manage and support a team of 12 English teachers, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
- Curriculum Expertise: Lead the design and implementation of an engaging English curriculum with a strong emphasis on GCSE, utilizing your expertise in EDUCAS.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee quality assurance processes to maintain and improve teaching standards.
- Student Achievement: Ensure that students achieve excellent academic outcomes by supporting and monitoring their progress.
Candidate Profile:
- Subject Expertise: Strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum with direct experience in EDUCAS.
- Teaching Experience: Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching and drive student success.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management abilities, with experience leading and developing teams of at least 12 staff members.
- Innovative Mindset: A creative approach to education, with a passion for introducing new teaching methods.
