Our client is a leading provider of comprehensive building and maintenance solutions across the UK. With a reputation for delivering high-quality services and innovative solutions, they have recently secured a prestigious maintenance framework with a major rail company, focusing on fabric maintenance for rail stations across the South of England.

The Building Fabric Manager will play a critical role in managing and overseeing all aspects of fabric maintenance across multiple rail stations in the South of England. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality maintenance services, adhering to strict safety and operational standards, and managing a team of skilled tradespeople and subcontractors. This is a key position that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Building Fabric Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the delivery of fabric maintenance services across designated rail stations, ensuring all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Lead and manage a team of fabric maintenance technicians, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure all work meets industry standards and client expectations.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction through regular communication and feedback.
  • Coordinate the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, including maintenance schedules, progress reports, and incident logs, providing regular updates to senior management and the client.

Building Fabric Manager

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a building fabric management or Facilities Management role, ideally within the rail sector.
  • Strong knowledge of building fabric maintenance practices, materials, and techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Exceptional organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and reporting tools.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively across the South of England.
  • PTS certification would be a plus.
