Description

Our local government client in Northwest London is recruiting a Level 2 Nursery Practitioner for immediate start on a 12-month Fixed-term contract, 25 hours per week. To be a key worker and ensure the children are settled and meet their needs. To support Children with their learning and development and ensure they are safe.

Responsibility

The responsibility to protect and promote the health and well-being of children’s learning through play to ensure they reach their development targets.

Qualification – Essential

  • GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in early years education and childcare.
  • Evidence of successful completion of training in strategies for early-year education.
  • Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.

Essential - Skills, Abilities, & Experience

  • Relevant Experience and ability to work with children 0-5, including children with SEND.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in various ways, verbally and in writing, caring attitude and friendly, flexible approach, knowledge of safeguarding.
  • Experience in using information and communication technology to support learning.
  • Knowledge of fundamental principles of child development and learning.
  • Understanding the needs of children and families, including those with disabilities.
  • Previous experience in working with children aged birth to five.
  • Experience in dealing with childhood illnesses, accidents and emergency procedures.
  • Experience in food preparation for young children, including young babies.         
  • Able to build working relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues, work flexibly across boundaries and be a team member.
  • Experience working on own initiative and prioritise between conflicting demands.
  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and develop new skills and opportunities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are appropriate for communicating effectively with children, parents/carers, families, and staff.

  • A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
