Located in the vibrant community of Ealing, our small, welcoming prep school caters to children aged 3 to 11 years old. Our school is particularly dedicated to supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), and our specialised Autism Resource Provision (ARP) is a testament to our commitment. With class sizes ranging from 15-20 students, we offer tailored educational experiences that enable our students to grow both academically and socially. Under the experienced leadership of our head teacher, who has a deep understanding and passion for SEN education, we ensure that every child receives the personalized attention and care they deserve.

About the role:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with a focus on supporting non-verbal students. As part of our specialised ARP class, you will be working one-on-one with non-verbal students, helping them navigate their educational journey and ensuring they feel understood and valued. The role is ideal for someone who is patient, empathetic, and committed to making a genuine difference in the lives of children with ASD. You will be instrumental in creating a positive learning experience that accommodates each child’s unique needs, employing strategies that foster communication, social skills, and overall development.

Application Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications in SEN support are preferred, but significant experience in a similar role will also be considered.

• Previous experience working with non-verbal children or children on the autism spectrum is essential.

• Strong understanding of autism, especially in relation to non-verbal communication techniques and approaches.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each child’s individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support to non-verbal students in the ARP class, helping them access the curriculum and participate in school activities.

• Implement tailored communication strategies and interventions to facilitate understanding and expression in non-verbal students.

• Collaborate with teachers to create and adapt resources that cater to the individual learning needs of students with ASD.

• Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the child’s education.

Perks and Benefits:

Joining our school as an SEN-TA comes with the opportunity to work in a truly supportive and inclusive environment. You’ll be part of a dedicated team that values collaboration and continuous learning. We offer ongoing professional development opportunities, including training in ASD-specific interventions and communication strategies. With a strong leadership team and a clear focus on SEN support, you will have the chance to grow and advance in your career while making a meaningful impact on the lives of children. Our school is conveniently located in Ealing, with excellent transport links and a vibrant local community to explore.
