Head of Engineering – C++, Cyber Security – Remote First (UK Based / London) - £110,000 to £130,000 – Ref: JB-69

We have an opportunity for a Head of Engineering to join a Cyber Security scale-up. We are looking for someone with a strong background in C++. This can either have been gained as a hands-on developer or leading teams of C++ Software Engineers in the delivery of highly scalable, complex (multi-threaded, multi-processing or embedded) solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing 5 x Scrum / Kanban development teams with 5 x direct reports and 28 x indirect reports. You must have prior experience of leading teams of engineers to deliver complex projects in an Agile delivery environment.

Reporting into the VP of Engineering, you will have full accountability for the engineering delivery across multiple Agile development teams. You will identify, oversee and implement continuous delivery and incremental improvements to their software products, whilst collaborating within internal and external key stakeholders to align the development goals and timelines with the company objectives.

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

• You must have a strong background in delivering complex solutions built using C++ - This experience could have been gained while hands-on or leading teams
• You will have come from a development background with several years’ experience leading engineering teams 
• You should have a proven track record in agile delivery and be comfortable with goal setting and stakeholder management
• A strong educational background in a Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics or relevant discipline is preferred, as a number of their engineers are educated to MSc / PhD level,

The role is remote first with monthly visits to the London office (Travel expenses will be provided). We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role, and we do need the successful candidate to be based within the UK and have full right to work.
