This food manufacturing business is looking for a Engineering Compliance Manager to join the team in Nottingham.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the site is compliant to all legal, statutory, health and safety and food standards.  Attention to detail and a background in food manufacturing is a must to be successful in this role.

No two days will be the same as you support the day to day management of the engineering team while assisting in budget control of the department.  You will report to the Chief Engineer and work with them to make sure the site is complaint.

Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Compliance Manager:
  • Ensure that the engineering department / site is compliant in all legal, statutory, health & safety and food safety areas.
  • Management of Suppliers / contractors.
  • Ensure work on site is carried out safely and RAMS are available to cover all works.
  • Maintain detailed records of all compliance areas.
  • Management of facility department covering all aspects of Refrigeration, Steam, Effluent, water
  • To actively promote and drive a safety culture within the department / factory ensuring all Health & safety requirements are met.
  • Carry out investigations and disciplinaries.
  • Work with external suppliers and site departments and build long term positive relationships.
  • Review and prioritise outstanding works effectively.
  • Working with the team all planned works and planned preventative maintenance tasks to be reviewed for effectiveness covering all H&S, Food safety and reliability issues
  • Play an active part in driving all CI project/initiatives.

Experience and Qualifications needed for this Engineering Compliance Manager role:
  • Previous experience within a Food Manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering. Ideally apprentice trained.
  • A strong understanding of statutory (H&S at work act, PUWER, COSHH, DSEAR etc) group (site electrical rules, oven standards etc) standards and customer (BRC, M&S etc) standards.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to communicate to all levels within the business.
  • Experience of managing and developing a team of maintenance Engineers.
  • Strong planning and organising ability.
  • Financial awareness to manage various budgets.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects / tasks simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of Pirana and SAP.
