Insight Executive are pleased to be working with a leading commercial property management business  to hire for an Energy Manager within the Technical Services division.  In the role you will be carrying out Energy Audits and Surveys on commercial properties and advising the building owners on energy optimisations to be made through energy efficiencies and savings. 

The role falls within Technical Services Management so experience within Building Services Engineering is ideal, and a practical knowledge of Energy Management and its application within occupied commercial buildings. 

 Role Description:

  • This role will deliver local technical energy management asset audits, culminating in an Asset Improvement Plan (AIP) which in turn supports the wider PDS Sustainability drive to Net Zero deliverables as agreed with the PDS/AS playbook roles & responsibilities protocol.
  • These services will be delivered to a multi-site, multi-client basis as well as leading on the development and implementation of engineering services, and energy performance management services as well as the agreed service, scope, and strategy within the client teams nationally.
  • The successful candidate will prepare monitor and execute the agreed deliverables on time and within the agreed parameters and support the business, review & manage performance impacts and deliver on business development nationally.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Complete engineering energy management site surveys & audit reports and create site-level action plans.
  • Prepare routine engineering reports where required as part of client account management.
  • Manage the agreed forecasts and personal financial targets.
  • Manage internal and external relationships including Client, local authorities, service providers and statutory bodies.
  • Undertake feasibility studies and then tender and project manage the delivery of renewable energy (PV), electric vehicle (EV) charging and other small engineering projects in line with PDS/AS playbook.
  • Establish ‘value for money’ strategies for delivering the technical management service.
  • Provide technical energy management support & advice to the Asset services team Nationally, including support deploy training for property management & facilities management.
  • Co-ordinate with other internal service lines to share knowledge and create alignment in service delivery
  • Manage asset level legislative and regulatory risks current and future planning across managed assets
  • Review industry guidelines and utilities regulations providing guidance and support to asset services and clients, when change impacts the managed portfolio.
  • Support lead wider engineering initiatives with key supply chain partners and procurement function.

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate Engineering degree and/or HND/HNC qualification. (preferred)
  • professional body membership
  • Current UK Driving License.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Self Motivated
  • Excellent Time Management Skills.
  • Commercial awareness from experience and/or qualification.
  • Good working knowledge/understanding of building operating systems (mechanical, electrical, controls and fire/health and safety).
  • Understanding of energy management and optimisation within or applicable to properties.
  • Good Written Communication Skills & attention to detail.
  • Cost control, variance and forecasting reporting.
  • IT skills inc. Word, Excel to intermediate level.
  • Knowledge of Output Specifications.
  • Management of Performance based contracts
