A Machine Operative has a starting salary of £26,200, with a clearly defined pathway of pay progression. As a Machine Operative you will be the essential cog to ensure the demands of our customers can be achieved, you can take significant pride in the operation of your machine. You take ownership of a machine, ensuring it runs safely and at the optimum efficiency, that the machine is kept clean and tidy, and our customers specifications are adhered to minimising waste where possible.

It's important to note that the Machine Operative role involves standing for extended periods and working in a temperature-controlled (8-10 degrees) warehouse environment with loud machinery. Physical stamina is important here.

Key Responsibilities of a Machine Operative:

• To ensure that all practices and procedures executed in the packing areas comply with the Statutory and corporate Health and Safety Regulations.
• To ensure that all practices and procedures executed in the packing areas comply with Food Safety legislation and Food Safety Systems.
• To ensure effective communication between yourself and the team, and to highlight any issues to the Line Leader promptly.
• To take active part in all Continuous Improvement projects in your department.
• To ensure all machinery is working correctly and safely before commencing production.
• To focus on Key Performance Indicators
• To ensure an effective operation of your machine.
• To ensure only products of the highest quality are packed.
• To ensure all packed products are packed and sealed correctly.
• To support training on the machines as required.
