The Electoral Commission have an exciting opportunity for a HR Systems and People Data Analyst to join the team.


Directorate: Finance and Corporate Services
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: London (2 days+ a week in office): £42,396 PA / Outside of London: £39,305 PA

Location: Although this role can be located in any UK location occasional travel to London will be required as that is where most of the HR team are based.

HR Systems and People Data Analyst  - The Opportunity

Having recently successfully implemented a new HR system (iTrent), this role will be key to ensuring we maximise the functionality of the new system and ensuring people data is at the heart of decision making at the highest level. This will involve assisting HR in data analysis, report writing, trouble-shooting, the general use of the systems, developing and testing of new functionalities and communicating with customers and suppliers. 

HR Systems and People Data Analyst  - What You’ll Do

- You will be responsible for the day-to-day system maintenance including HR system security management with regular audits to maintain data integrity

- Ensure the HR System adheres to GDPR requirements

- Provide first and second-line support for system issues, escalating as needed

- Offer advice, guidance, and training on HR systems to users

- Manage relationships with software suppliers, addressing issues and holding them accountable

- Lead HR system upgrades, development, and continuous improvement

- Collaborate with ICT and Finance to align HR systems with overall strategy

- Provide expertise in HR reporting and data analysis, supporting data-driven decisions

- Support HR organisational development projects with data and systems management

- Assist in project management, including planning and staff communication

HR Systems and People Data Analyst  - What We’re Looking For

- Experience with HR systems, especially iTrent is essential

- Proficient in data analysis with advanced Excel skills

- Experienced in using reporting tools like Business Objects and PowerBI

- Strong understanding and practical application of Data Protection and GDPR in HR

- Solutions-oriented, organised, and methodical in project management

- Committed to continuous improvement, working autonomously with accountability

- CIPD qualification (or working towards it) is desirable

- As we are a small team, flexibility to work across various HR disciplines is key
