Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Salary: £42,000 - £65,000 per annum 
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30 (1-hour unpaid lunch break)

Parkside Recruitment are looking for an experienced and dynamic Fire Project Manager & Estimator in Stevenage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily activities and schedules of Installation Engineers, ensuring timely and efficient project execution.
  • Work closely with the Surveyor during project handovers, scheduling work, and agreeing on installation dates with customers.
  • Track the progress of installation work, ensuring it aligns with building or construction schedules, which may require on-site supervision.
  • Assess the suitability of proposed equipment and liaise with the Surveyor regarding significant project variations.
  • Ensure the correct ordering of materials and manage stockholding for in-house and van inventories.
  •  Design and interpret specifications for fire systems and other related systems, such as PA/VA systems and emergency lighting.
  • Conduct site surveys to gather information for accurate estimates and quotations.
  •  Provide quotations for project additions and variations as needed.
  • Manage the documentation process for invoicing and customer correspondence.
  •  Provide technical support to the Sales Team and department, especially for complex projects involving multiple systems.
  •  Handle customer complaints, prepare correspondence, and deliver presentations at our premises or the customer’s location.
  • Oversee visits from external inspectors and auditors to ensure compliance.
  • Address the day-to-day needs of Installation Engineers, manage holidays and absenteeism, and ensure timely submission of timesheets.
  • Emergency Call-Out Roster: Participate in the Duty Engineer Roster, providing escalation support for emergency call-outs as required.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in project management and estimating within the fire and security industry.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with bespoke databases and office machinery.
  • Attributes:
    • Strong problem-solving abilities with a practical and logical approach.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
    • Competent in estimating, considering all project aspects such as timescales, overheads, and costs.
