Warehouse/Maintenance Person

The Sourdough Company was born out of the passion to create the very best authentic artisan breads, with no corners cut and everything is made from scratch by our passionate bakers.

We are expanding our operation and have an opportunity for an exceptionally motivated individual to work alongside our existing forklift drivers/warehouse persons.

Accredited RTITB valid Fork Lift Counterbalance Truck license up to 5000kg B1 – ESSENTIAL

Main Function of role:

Reporting to the Production Manager and working alongside a team of warehouse operatives to ensure that the goods inwards, storage and goods outwards functions are efficiently and effectively processed.

Main role responsibilities (Morning Shift)

1) Organise freezer as per order requirements, completing despatch checks, recording batch codes and best before dates

2) Report any issues to the Production or Shift Managers

3) Maintain the freezer organised and clean

4) Check that production and packing have sufficient ingredients, packaging materials and pallets for all shifts

5) Unload all deliveries when they arrive, completing all goods in checks, recording batch codes and best before dates, fill out Goods In Records.

6) Check all stock already in the factory or stored on the trailer has been labelled up correctly

7) Load all goods out vehicles

8) Contact the designated waste bread service to collect on a regular basis

9) Clear the blast area regularly

10) Adhere to Health and Safety regulations when operating the fork-lift truck

11) Fill in all warehouse compliance paperwork (forklift checks, knife blade issue record, cleaning sheet, despatch sheets, goods in records)

12) Adhere to Food Safety system when handling final product

13) Keep waste area tidy

14) Update the pallet freezer notice board in a 100% accurate timely manner

15) Communicate effectively with managers

16) Maintain strict traceability records as required by the job and ensure compliance paperwork is filled in

17) Maintain a flexible approach to work and a willingness to get the job done.

18) Observe and maintain safety levels with a particular attention to yours and your colleagues’ safety.

19) Maintain a strict level of personal and workplace hygiene.

20) Use common sense and the training you have been given including your induction for both Food Safety and Health and Safety to work in an efficient, safe and timely manner thus ensuring personal and company goals are met.

21) Undertake other duties within the production facility as part of the manufacturing team when/where deemed necessary.

22) Have the ability to take on responsibility and complete tasks through to the end.

General Maintenance Duties:

1) Provide general maintenance and upkeep of the outside area, including grass cutting and tidying. Please note that this list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be amended as needed to meet the evolving needs of the Company.

Hours of work

  • 40 hour per week – Monday to Friday – with some potential weekend work
  • Hours: 5.00am – 1.30pm

  • £11.44 per hour
  • Full Time – Permanent position

Work Location: in person – Shipdham, Norfolk - please note that you will need transport as we are sited in a rural location.
