JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:            Production Manager. Directly reporting into the ops director

                                                                       
Primary Function
 

The Production Manager will oversee the daily operations across all shifts, with direct responsibility for leading and mentoring 4 Shift Managers and their direct reports. 

A key focus of this role is to optimise production, and enhance the effeicentcy of the production processes. Working closely with the Shift Managers and other key stakeholders, the Production Manager will ensure that production targets are met whilst keeping production safe, and to the highest quality.

This key role also involves driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that production operations are both cutting-edge and sustainable.
 

Key Responsibilities
 

• Promote and develop a safe, ethical, and legal work environment within the production team.
• Ensure all production activities are all safely delivered 
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments on the production floor.

Production Efficiency & Quality:

• Oversee daily production operations to ensure optimal use of resources and machinery.
• Implement and monitor quality control processes.
• Utilise data-driven approaches to continuously improve production efficiency, reducing downtime and increasing overall productivity.
• Collaborate with the Quality and Engineering teams.
• Lead continuous improvement to help in enhancing production processes, reducing waste, and optimizing workflow using methods such as lean, siz sigma etc
• Drive advanced data analytics to improve production outcomes.

Resource & Budget Management:

• Manage production resources effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of materials, labour, and equipment.
• Oversee the production budget, controlling costs while meeting production goals and maintaining quality standards.

Person Specification
Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong understanding of production management practices, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards related to manufacturing.

Experience:

• Proven experience in a production management role within a high volume, fast moving manufacturing environment.
• Experience with budget management and resource allocation in a production setting.
