We are seeking an experienced and driven Associate Director in Ecology to join a leading environmental consultancy in Tetbury. As part of a much larger multi-disciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to lead on significant ecological projects, work alongside a diverse range of specialists, and help shape the future of our ecological services.

As part of a larger multi-disciplinary team they collaborate with experts in planning, engineering, and environmental sciences to ensure sustainability and environmental protection are at the heart of every project.
 
The Role:
As an Associate Director in Ecology, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of ecologists, overseeing the delivery of complex ecological projects, and providing strategic direction on biodiversity and conservation issues. You will also work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure the successful integration of ecological services into wider planning and development projects.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead and manage ecological assessments, including Phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species surveys, and Ecological Impact Assessments (EIA).
·Provide strategic input into ecological design and mitigation plans.
·Oversee project delivery and ensure compliance with UK ecological legislation.
·Manage and mentor junior ecologists, providing technical guidance and support.
·Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and statutory bodies, building strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
·Develop new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the ecology team.
·Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale projects, ensuring an integrated approach to environmental planning.
What We're Looking For:
·A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
·Extensive experience in ecology consultancy, with a proven track record in managing and delivering ecological projects.
·In-depth knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies.
·Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage both people and resources.
·Strong client-facing and communication skills.
·A proactive, problem-solving attitude, with a passion for delivering sustainable solutions.
·Full UK driving licence (essential).
·Chartered membership of CIEEM or equivalent (desirable).
