Senior Database Developer / DBA with strong PostgreSQL knowledge required by a growing technology company. Due to continued success and planned expansion the company are looking to hire an ambitious Senior Database Developer / DBA to join their existing team.

The company's office is located in Reading. They operate a hybrid working model.

The successful Senior Database Developer / DBA will join a highly skilled team of Software Developers and will be responsible for the performance and security of the company's sizeable, high availability database systems.

Responsibilities will include;

- Working with the development team and business analysts to develop the existing systems

- Maintain current database architecture and design architecture for future migrations

- Deliver high-level system designs

- Participate in sprint planning

- Research new data platforms to ensure maximum ongoing efficiency of the overall platform

Essential Experience;

- Extensive PostgreSQL knowledge

- Proven background taking responsibility for database architecture

- Data migration

- Linux

Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite

- MySQL

- DevOps tools eg Kubernetes etc

- Cloud technologies eg AWS, GCP etc

- MongoDB

- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages like Python, Bash, Shell, C, C++ etc
