Bid Writer required in Essex  

GVR Solutions are currently representing a well-established main contractor, Based in Essex, who are currently in the market for a Bid Writer to join their pre-construction team.

As a £30m Turnover main contractor they provide both build and refurbishment services. £5m of the £30m comprises for MTC and Schedule of Rates work for housing, schools and hospitals. The rest of JCT contracts.

This is an integral position within the company as it will help them in increasing the quality and quantity of bids and to drive successful delivery of all tender documentation. This role will require a highly motivated professional with excellent interpersonal and writing skills who will work on the bid process from start to finish. They use power-point and MS project to produce bids/programmes. If the bid writer cannot write programmes there will be assistance from the estimator. Programming ability is advantageous, not essential

Responsibilities of the Bid Writer:

  • Full Bid Writing responsibility of predominantly hard service contracts, however you will be involved with other contracts and proposals.
  • Collateral development- writing/editing input from a variety of stakeholders typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, and operations.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the company business practices and standards to ensure an appreciation of the broad scope of knowledge and content required to satisfactorily respond to tenders.
  • Writing the bids, including ITT (invitation to tender), PQQ (Pre-Qualifying Questionnaires)
  • Quality of all aspects of the bid, including written documentation and presentations. 
  • Ensure all bid documentation is clear, concise and - crucially - compelling. 
  • Must understand the business processes and procedures and co-ordinate all parties involved in the bid process to ensure everyone is aware of the level of contribution expected of them and knows when their deadlines are. 
  • Ensure all timelines are met and that the bid submitted is as complete and accurate as possible, whilst also best reflecting your company’s services and abilities.
  • Should be highly motivated, innovative, customer focused and have a ‘can do’ attitude. 
  • Motivate and inspire others; able to obtain a high level of work from the team to ensure all deadlines are met efficiently and that the bid is of the highest quality possible.
  • Attending and presentation information at a monthly review meeting
  • Manage the bid writing process and ensure deadlines are hit
  • Writing Bids to suit the given project
  • Writing case studies as the business requires
  • Writing SQ’s as the business requires
  • Writing presentations as the business requires
