Manpower Engineering are recruiting on behalf of our client Selwood who are the leading pump rental solutions company in the UK.

Position Purpose
To service, repair, and maintain our fleet of diesel pumps and a range of mechanical and non-mechanical ancillary equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Main Responsibilities

  • Inspection & Repair:
    Conduct thorough inspections of pump rental equipment returned from client hires. Perform necessary repairs, including fault finding, diagnostics, and investigative work, either in the workshop or on customer sites.
  • Preventative Maintenance:
    Perform regular preventative maintenance to ensure equipment remains operational and minimize downtime during rental hires.
  • Servicing:
    Regularly service pump rental fleet equipment on customer sites as directed.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure all work is carried out to manufacturer specifications, efficiently and effectively.
  • Damage Reporting:
    Inspect equipment for damage, document findings, and notify your Line Manager as needed.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Identify and report recurring issues related to specific equipment or groups of equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Proactively suggest modifications and improvements to equipment and processes.
  • Health & Safety:
    Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, including wearing relevant PPE at all times.
  • Vehicle Maintenance:
    Perform daily checks on company vehicles, including fluid levels, lights, and cleanliness.
  • Communication:
    Maintain regular communication with your Line Manager and internal contacts regarding job requirements and customer site updates.
  • Documentation:
    Complete all tasks accurately on your tablet and submit them on time.
  • Workshop Coverage:
    Provide cover for 'Workshop Fitter' responsibilities during periods of sickness or holiday.
  • Professional Conduct:
    Represent the Company in a professional and customer-focused manner at all times.
  • Housekeeping:
    Maintain a clean and tidy work area. Ensure small tools and equipment are kept in good condition and stored correctly.
  • Company Policies:
    Carry out all tasks in line with Company Policy procedures as detailed by your Line Manager.
  • Flexibility:
    Be prepared to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, to support team needs.

Qualifications & Experience
Preferred:

  • ONC in Mechanical Engineering
  • Level 2 Certificate BTEC in Engineering Operations (Knowledge)
  • Aptitude for working on construction sites

Essential:

  • Safety Awareness:
    Knowledge of isolation and safe systems of work requirements.
  • Experience:
    Proven experience in a similar environment with a strong understanding of on-site safety.
  • Adaptability:
    Flexibility in approach, with a readiness to adapt to challenging situations.
  • Willingness to Travel:
    Ability to travel as required to meet business demands.
  • Driving License:
    Full driving license (no more than 6 points).
  • Age Requirement:
    Must be over 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
  • Outdoor Work:
    Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Proactivity & Attention to Detail:
    Ability to act proactively and maintain a methodical, detail-oriented approach.
