Trainee Site Manager
Posted a week ago by Mount Anvil
We’re looking for a Trainee Site Manager with a learning mindset, to work on a landmark project—a 22-storey tower with stunning duplex units overlooking the O2 Arena in Greenwich. This isn’t just a learning experience; it’s a chance to grow your career while contributing to a high-profile development with amazing residential facilities like a swimming pool, gym, rooftop running track, cinema room and 24-hour concierge. With a track record of promoting from within, Mount Anvil offers a clear path to progress your career—and there are 5 trainees and assistants who’ve done the same thing here recently!
Under the expert guidance of our Senior and Site Managers, you'll play a key role in keeping our project on track, from uploading QA forms to delivering toolbox talks and monitoring progress trackers. You’ll shadow finishing packages and prepare homes for demos and handovers—gaining hands-on experience that’s invaluable in site management. You’ll dive into the action, managing inductions, conducting drug and alcohol testing, and leading health & safety walks.
Ours is a high-performance culture. High performance in this role means strong communication and IT skills and a background in hands-on work. You’ll be a stickler for the details and being single-minded about delivering quality homes that residents love whilst learning fast from the senior team that you’ll be working alongside. While you won't be expected to know everything from day one, the right person will have at least a year's experience training or working with subcontractors or trades. You’ll be eager, reliable and committed to building new skills. If you’e passionate about construction, and ready to take on new challenges, this is the perfect role for you.
This is a culture where you’ll be giving and getting feedback from day one, because we think it’s the fastest way to learn and to build trust. We want to be challenged by you, too – we hate unnecessary hierarchy and “my way or the highway” has no place here.
So, if continuous learning is what you’re about, apply now!
MOUNT ANVIL
What we do: We’ve worked in partnership for 30 years to create outstanding places in London. We’re growing, with our construction turnover doubling, and with a pipeline of new projects where we’re rearing to get started and make a difference.
Why we’re here: We’re here to pursue better, differently.
Better: One of The Sunday Times’ “100 Best Small Companies to Work For” for over a decade, winner of multiple Pride In The Job and WhatHouse awards for our people and the quality of our homes, and proud to have the nation’s best site in our ranks (winning the highest possible marks across the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s five areas – the first site ever to do so in 22 years of the CCS).
Differently: Our culture is unusual. Different means more transparent with information. More direct with feedback that helps us all grow. More rigorous about setting goals, then giving more freedom to go and achieve them. It’s definitely not for everyone. We don’t hire know-it-all’s, we hire “learn-it-alls.” As our CEO, Killian, says: “We work hard to find people who thrive on context and responsibility, rather than rules and procedures. We then work like owner managers, not a leader and a load of helpers.”
Benefits:
Private medical insurance for you and your family through Vitality (including discounts on spa breaks, cinema tickets and your food shopping, free Starbucks, 50% off Virgin Active Membership and more).
Income Protection Insurance to help you cope financially if you’re unable to work due to illness or injury, Life Assurance equivalent to four times your salary, your annual leave & Bank Holidays and enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
We think the best benefit of being here is the learning culture and the ability to make a real difference – we dislike hierarchy and politics, and “not my job” isn’t in our vernacular. Which means if you really care about raising the bar and really want to feel connected to the end product, as opposed to like a cog in a big machine, this could be the place for you to grow your career.
