Our client is an exciting global consultancy, leading proptech business that provides highly specialised facility life-cycle integrated consulting services to the built environment and digital building service. Their mission is to Build Tomorrow’s Digital Planet through their highly qualified global team which is uniquely qualified to deliver high-performance sustainable landmark buildings through their integrated suite of services which include: Digital Building Services, Building Performance Services and Digital Facilities Management Services.

The role

The role of Project Manager is to provide related consultancy and project management in the field of Digital Building technologies, applications, process, standards for the company and their clients. Working as a part of the  Digital Building Services Group, the role will be responsible for delivering projects and services to their clients in order to successfully fulfil the Scope of Work (SoW) outlined in the Agreement, Proposal, or Engagement Letter between the company and their Client, together with any other relevant client-side documents such as Business Requirements Document (BRD), policies, standards, and processes. 

The Project Manager represents the company in delivering services to their clients and when working with industry partners and suppliers, so will maintain the highest standards of technical and professional performance and conduct themself with honesty and integrity at all times.

In addition to client-facing role and delivery responsibilities, the Project Manager is expected to be both an effective Team Leader for other team members and an active member of the Digital Building Services team. This includes making a positive contribution to the development of the team and wider business, as well as working effectively with all colleagues to successfully deliver projects and support their business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program and Project Management: Delivery of consultancy and project management services and projects for clients in accordance with the Proposal, Scope of Work (SoW), and/or Engagement Letter. Managing the delivery of projects on time, to scope and budget as per Client requirements
  • Team Management: Leading a team of Technical Project Coordinators, SMEs and /or Digital Building consultants to ensure effective and efficient delivery of projects. Responsible for providing guidance and mentoring to team members, as well as facilitating teamwork and collaboration.
  • Client Management: Understand customer requirements and business objectives and work proactively with the company, the Client, and other stakeholders to meet and deliver them and look after the clients’ best interests.
  • Services and Solutions Delivery:
    • Skilfully manage, provide support, advise, and collaborate on Digital Building systems integration, technologies, initiatives and solutions, processes and standards for the company and their clients.
    • Manage the process of deploying Digital Building systems and architectures to provide optimum performance, functionality, and value. Coordinating with various stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and contractors,
    • Utilise appropriate project delivery methods to ensure timely delivery, Hybrid Waterfall/Agile, client specific tools.
    • Preparing clear & concise reports for the client, managing risks & issues, mitigation of them and offering solutions,
    • Ensure the change management process is followed, and the client is kept informed, undertaking lessons learnt, implementing changes to processes, documentation and communicating across all parties/entities.
    • Produce RFPs, service delivery, technical and project related reports as required.
  • Business Development: Identify potential revenue opportunities for the business line, communicate them to management and, where required, support the business development activity for them.
  • Industry Expertise: Maintain expertise, knowledge and understanding of industry trends, developments, and initiatives.
  • Company Responsibilities:
    • Represent the company in a professional manner internally and externally and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction for all work performed.  Be an effective team member, communicating with colleagues and working collectively to contribute to the development of Digital Building Services Group and the business.
    • Identify, develop, deliver, and support opportunities for continuous improvement for the company. Report to line manager, acting in accordance with their requests and direction and those of management.
    • Manage own workload, communicating and escalating any issues to line manager accordingly. Act in accordance with all employment policies and procedures, including Employee Handbook, Health & Safety and Time and Expenses Reporting.  Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Management Team

About you

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years project management experience, in IoT Solutions, Systems Integration, and related technologies. Required Bachelor's or Master's degree in Controls, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in IoT-related roles e.g. Project Manager, Technical, Designer, or Engineer.  Strong project management skills with experience managing complex projects from start to finish. Excellent Project Reporting, Risk and Issue Management and Communications Skills
  • Performing Project Reviews and Lessons Learnt exercises to feed into Continual Improvement. Effective Stakeholder Management and communication skills, including attending project, client and team meetings, document writing and presentation skills.
  • Project proposal development, estimating and presentation. Experience and or qualification in RIBA Stages of Work or international equivalents. Experience and or qualification in Construction Projects and Contracting.
  • Technical expertise in Digital Buildings Systems Integration design, development, and implementation. Experience as working as part of a delivery team to manage and track the project from design to handover, including:
    • Client requirements gathering and documentation.
    • Competitive Tender (RFP) Procurement, SoW and Specification Development
    • Process development including RACI, process, and procedure.
  • Competent using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office software applications.

In addition to the above, it is desirable to have experience or qualifications in the design, delivery, and operation of IoT Systems:

  • Use of Cloud Platforms (Google, Microsoft, Amazon) and Data Analytics 
  • AutoCAD / BIM / Visio, RIBA/AIA Stages of Work or international equivalents. Construction Projects and Contracting, Systems Testing & Commissioning, FDD and Automated Commissioning Systems 

Location / Region

This position is based out of our London office.

The role requires working either at client premises, from home, or at their premises. It may also require international travel and working across time zones where necessary for project delivery.
