Are you passionate about science and eager to support the next generation of scientists? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Science Technician to join our vibrant and dynamic secondary school in Southwark. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is ready to start immediately and contribute to our thriving science department.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons
  • Assist teachers during practical lessons and ensure all equipment is used safely
  • Maintain and organise the science laboratories and prep rooms
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of chemicals and equipment, placing orders as needed
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are met, conducting regular safety checks
  • Provide support in developing new experiments and improving existing practical activities
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to the science department


Requirements:

  • A strong passion for science and education
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise with staff and students
  • A DBS on the update service is essential
  • Previous technician-based experience is preferred but not required
