Design & Technology (DT) Technician

Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Lewisham
Start Date: Immediate
Position: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: Dependent on Experience

About Us:

Our school in Lewisham is committed to providing a dynamic and engaging learning environment where students can thrive. We are looking for a dedicated DT Technician to join our team and support the Design & Technology department in delivering high-quality education.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain DT equipment and materials for lessons, ensuring they are safe and ready for use.
• Assist teachers and students during practical lessons, providing technical support and guidance.
• Manage inventory and order supplies as needed, ensuring the department is well-stocked.
• Ensure all health and safety regulations are met, conducting regular checks and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Support the setup and dismantling of equipment for DT projects and exhibitions.
• Provide administrative support to the DT department, including maintaining records and documentation.
• Contribute to the development of innovative teaching resources and practical projects.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a DT Technician or in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
• Strong technical skills and a good understanding of DT equipment and materials.
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to support both staff and students effectively.
• A valid DBS check on the update service is required.
