Legacy Strategies are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to work with our well-established client in Grays, Essex.

Full Time | Permanent | Office-based

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 DOE

As a Payroll Administrator, you will be essential in managing employee timesheets and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll. Your responsibilities will include collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data to maintain accurate records. This role demands a strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. 

Responsibilities

  • Collect, verify, and process employee timesheets and attendance records, ensuring accurate recording of hours worked, overtime, and absences in line with company policies.
  • Prepare and process the weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, including the calculation of wages, deductions, and contributions, while ensuring compliance with tax laws and employment regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee personal details, pay rates, and any changes in job positions or salaries.
  • Generate payroll-related reports for management, including details on payroll expenses, employee hours worked, overtime, and absences. Support financial audits by providing relevant payroll and timesheet data.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and company policies, procedures, and regulations related to payroll and employment. Stay informed on new tax laws and regulations that may impact payroll processing.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding timesheets and payroll, providing timely and accurate information and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating payroll systems to ensure efficient data processing, and recommend improvements to payroll procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Payroll, or a related field would be ideal.
  • Proven experience in payroll processing and timesheet management, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software, Excel, and other financial systems.
  • Familiarity with labour laws, tax regulations, and employment standards related to payroll.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Experience with Easybuild is highly beneficial for this position.
