The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for an Electronics and Electrical Engineering Technician to join an exceptional automotive Electronics and Electrical Engineering team to work on the most exciting programmes announced to date.

You will be responsible in supporting the Engineers in building, testing and the assembly of electrical and electronic systems found in vehicles, also fault finding and problem solving.

Responsibilities

Company Policies: Manage and follow the quality, health, safety, and all policies of the company

Work closely as part of the electronics systems team to develop high quality cost effective electronic/electrical systems

Diagnosis and rectification of faults as and when required

Documentation of faults and rectification activities to enable design reviews

Feedback to design engineers of how vehicle systems and component’s function

Implementation of design changes and rework of systems

Design and build of electrical systems

Specify test plans for developed systems

Develop test and validation specifications

Manage documentation as part of change management process for existing systems

Assist in prototype, pre-production and production vehicle builds

Design and develop solutions using existing vehicle circuits, components and systems to meet programme requirements

Work closely with design engineers and suppliers to establish solutions that can be taken forward into production

Support design verification and function sign off in line with project deadlines

Essential Skills

  • Automotive Electrical Engineering qualification/ degree or equivalent within a relevant subject
  • 3 – 5 years proven & practical experience in electronics and electrical systems within an Automotive setting or with an OEM or tier 1 supplier   
  • Electrical integration and fault-finding experience
  • Capable of liaison with suppliers of electrical wiring components and the EDS team on all technical matters at company levels from shop floor to engineering management
  • Able to assist in the selection and operation of all development workshop electrical test equipment for vehicle electrical systems
  • Capable of assisting in the build of prototype, pre-production and production vehicles
  • General automotive electrical knowledge and knowledge of supporting CAD systems (Catia, Vesys, etc.)
  • Experience in CAN & LIN including Vector tools (such as CANalyser), vehicle on-board diagnostics, network diagnostics
  • Experience in VeSys EDS Design System
  • In depth understanding of harness and schematic drawings
  • Understanding importance of managing engineering change requests
  • Must have excellent problem-solving experience, good communication / presentation skills and be a good team player
  • Capable of building or testing electrical systems to drawings or procedures accurately and reporting all findings.
  • Ability to use various electrical test instruments DVMs, Scopes, Insulation Testers etc
  • Discipline to follow technical and administrational procedures
  • Positive attitude towards mastering challenges and changes
  • Must have IDLR/Full Rights to Work in UK - Sponsorship or Work Permits will not be accepted/ provided.

Desirable

Knowledge of Test Fixtures, Jigs & Tooling, EOL Testing methodology

Development engineering experience for body systems, EDS and network electrical content

Use of ECAD packages for schematic capture & PCB design

Vesys EDS Design System trained
