Dunbar Education is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist setting in Wolverhampton. This role requires someone with hands-on experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and Autism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEMH, ADHD, and Autism, helping them to engage with learning and school life.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to create an inclusive, supportive environment.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) to meet the specific needs of each child.
- Support children in overcoming barriers to learning, including emotional regulation and social interaction.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their personal and academic growth.
- Assist in classroom management and maintain a safe and nurturing environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children with SEMH, ADHD, and Autism in an educational or specialist setting.
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to support diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to promoting the well-being and academic success of students.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or related fields.
- Experience working in a specialist SEN setting.
- Training in de-escalation techniques or emotional regulation would be advantageous.
