Accelerate Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of English to join a dynamic secondary school in Wakefield. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on students' academic and personal development in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Role Overview:

As a Teacher of English, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with a team of educators to foster a love of literature and language while promoting critical thinking and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver well-planned and innovative English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure high levels of student engagement and achievement.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum and share best practices.
  • Contribute to the school's wider activities and ethos, including extracurricular programmes.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant experience in teaching English.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for literature and language.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Demonstrated experience of raising student achievement and motivation.
